Congratulations to Eric Martin, a recent recipient of a Holstein Canada Education Award. Eric is the son of Dr. Alec and Sharon Martin. He is attending the University of Guelph in his third year of an Ag Business Degree. Eric has been an outstanding Ripley 4-H member for many years.

June and Earl Elliott had lunch with Bette MacLeod last week. Also, John Cronshaw visited with Bette.

Marilyn and Don Reid, Gail and Keith Van der Hoek, Fran and Jim Farrell and Ripley Fall Fair Ambassador Dayna Simpson attended the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies Convention in Toronto .

Recently Shirley and Doug MacDonald attended the birthday dinner held for John Gamble at Barb and John's home. His two brothers and wives were also there.

Irene and Bonnie Boyle hosted a 'friends' birthday gathering for Diane Clifford and also wished her a Happy Anniversary.

St. Andrew's United Church Women, Ripley, and friends tied quilts for missions this month.

Shirley Gilders of Clinton visited one day with some of her cousins in the Ripley area and with friends in RVilla.

 

Jean Brindley Fruin of Walkerton passed away and sympathy is sent to her family in the area. Sympathy is also sent to Joyce Armstrong Pollock of Wingham and her family on the loss of her husband, Dawson, and to his brother, Wally and Elaine, and sister, Lucille Fisher.

Marie Colling entertained Nancy McIntyre of Lucknow on Wednesday and Mary Anne Kukoly on Thursday - rehashing Purple Grove school days was a fun topic.

Hope everyone who has been fighting this nasty cold and flu, is doing much better now. Also, to our folks in the hospital, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

The World Day of Prayer service is Friday, March 4, at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew's United Church, Ripley.

A reminder, ladies, that the Women's Institute meeting is at Marilyn Reid's on Wednesday, March 2, at 1:30 p.m.
