Ripley Legion hosts
public-speaking contest

The annual Ripley Legion public-speaking competition was held Sunday, Feb. 27, at the Legion Hall.

A number of young people entered the contest, in the primary storytelling division, and the junior and intermediate public-speaking categories.

The primary winner was Eric Hackney, while the junior winner was Megan Johnson, and the junior winner was Bethany Wilken. These three speakers will compete at the Zone competition on Saturday, March 5, in Clinton.
