The Kincardine Theatre Guild's production of "Caught in the Net" has been selected to compete at the Western Ontario Drama League festival during the March Break (March 14-18) in London.

Preliminary adjudicator Eric Coates sat through more than 20 productions in the drama league region, between October and February, and "Caught in the Net" was nominated as one of five plays for the festival. It will be up against shows by Theatre Sarnia, Theatre Windsor, Theatre Kent and Aylmer Community Theatre.

The winner of this competition will represent the drama league at the Theatre Ontario Festival in Richmond Hill in May.

Two additional performances of "Caught in the Net" are planned for Friday, March 11, and Saturday, March, to help cover the costs of taking the troupe to London. In addition to the amazing actors, the crew includes stage management, lighting, sound, props, costumes, make-up and house. About 30 people from the current production will be travelling to London on March 17 for the 7 a.m. set-up at the Palace Theatre Friday morning, March 18.

The Kincardine Theatre Guild hopes to fill the Kincardine Arts Centre auditorium for the two additional performances in March, and hopes to see both repeat and new patrons.

The show is an hilarious sequel to Ray Cooney's farce, "Run For Your Wife," which the theatre guild staged 10 years ago. Click below for a complete review of "Caught in the Net."
