Donna Wilson named citizen
of the year by Kincardine chamber of commerce

donnaDonna Wilson has been named the Bruce Power citizen of the year by the Kincardine and District Chamber of Commerce.

The award goes to a person who has demonstrated strong citizenship with outstanding contributions to the community in the past year.

Former mayor of the Town of Kincardine, Wilson is a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 183, Kincardine, where she is public relations officer.

The chamber also announced the remaining award winners:

  • Herbal Magic business of the year: myFM Radio, Kincardine, Goderich and Port Elgin
  • Bruce Telecom customer service excellence: Penny's Laundromat, Kincardine
  • Municipality of Kincardine new business award: Pet Valu with two stores in Kincardine
  • Enbridge Quality of Life award: Friends of the Boardwalk, Kincardine
  • Canadian Tire farm business/farm-related business of the year: Greenfield Ethanol (Commercial Alcohols) in the Bruce Energy Centre
  • Ontario Power Generation environmental award: Jen McKellar and the Huron Heights "Groovy Greens," Kincardine
  • Kinfarm Tire young entrepreneur of the year: Tammy Nason of Salon 56 in Tiverton

 

  • Meridian Lifetime Achievement award - Marie Wilson of Tiverton
  • Nuclear Waste Management Organization award of merit: Derrick Burrows of Kincardine
  • Superheat business person of the year: Cheryl Goetz of Herbal Magic, Kincardine and Port Elgin

The awards will be presented at a gala on Saturday, March 26 at the Best Western Governor's Inn, Kincardine. Tickets are $40 each are available by calling 519-396-9333.
