Generations came together Monday night at Kingsway Arms - Elgin Lodge in Port Elgin.
Learning to mix 'by hand' without an electric beater Between the Bruce County Museum &Cultural Centre and Kingsway Arms retirement home in Port Elgin, young students have the opportunity to learn from those who have a wealth of experience to share, and the retirees are more than willing to share.
Resident Margaret McKillop demonstrates how to measure accurately Monday, March 7th, was the first in the series of crafts and cookies. For most of the young girls who attended, it was the first time they had made cookies 'from scratch' using only their own ability with no electric appliances and many found it tiring to beat the ingredients by hand.
Audrey Ball (R) demonstrates how to mix with a wooden spoon Each Monday, for four weeks, the generations will learn from each other. They will learn not only the crafts 'n' cookies but will also learn tolerance and patience and the skills of a bygone era.
