Letter to the Editor:

In response to Beverley White's article about taking down a tree.  There is no way this tree should ever be removed until it dies of natural causes.

There is way too much destruction of our natural resources as it is, but to cut down this beautiful land mark would be an absolute shame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why, why, why would anyone want to destroy such a lovely landmark??  We should be doing everything we can to save this majestic tree.

Elms all over the province are succumbing to Dutch Elm Disease, so why destroy one that is striving so well.  I have taken several pictures of this tree in every season, and each one is an absolute delight.  Do not make a horrible mistake by cutting this beauty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I support every attempt to save this tree, as do others in our community.
