'Polar dippers' run across the ice

Hundreds line the banks to watch the Polar dip

More than 50  people took part in the 12th Annual Polar dip in Owen Sound on Saturday, March 19.

The event was held behind the Bayshore Centre on  and was organized as a fundraiser for the Special Olympics.

A hole was cut in the ice and the individuals would throw themselves one at a time into the icy water. 

(L)John Jonathan & Chris Homans donned chicken hats for their dips

Almost $14,000 was raised part of which will stay in the local area with the remained going to the national Special Olympics.

Jessica Brascoti raised $112 and to the plunge in a tutu
