I have been following with interest the letters on saving the elms.

I guess I am just like the rest of your readers. I too think the Ministry has come up with some pretty lame reasons why they need to cut down these trees.

This week, I was travelling on Hwy 46 between Hilton Head Island and Savannah and took the attached picture. Regardless of the fact there is probably ten times more traffic on this road than most in Southern Ontario, they have decided to save their trees. These are old trees just like the ones in Ontario.

You can just imagine the stories they could tell.
