The Ripley Atom Wolves went on an improbable playoff stream in February and March, running the table with a 16-0 record.

This included home-and-home sweeps over Shallow Lake, Wingham, Zurich, Milverton, BCH AE, Walkerton AE, and Saugeen Shores AE.

The impressive aspect was that many games came down to the wire, with Ripley always finding a way to pull out the victory.

After 14 round-robin games, Walkerton was in second, which resulted in a final two-out-of-three series between Ripley and Walkerton.

Ripley decisively won Game 1 in Walkerton, 4-0.

Then, on home ice Wednesday night (March 23), the clinching game was a tense and close match, ending 2-1 for the Wolves.

Scoring the goals were Mathew Johnson and Jennelle Smeltzer.

This win made Ripley the WOAA Neilson Cup champions. Congratulations to Madison Beishuizen, Liam Chapleau, Tanner Charette, Mathew Johnson, Liam Kirkpatrick, Cameron Lamont, Hart McFarlane, Luke Richardson, Brent Scott, Jennelle Smeltzer, Kurtis Smeltzer, and Carson Watson, and their coaches, John McFarlane, Jeff Richardson, Dave Charette and Joanne Beishuizen.
