Re the Kincardine Derby,

Last year the derby went downhill big time. The prize structure was such that I did not purchase a ticket. Low end ATV’s and only providing 12 or 13 salmon awards. The number of fisherman and women was down ( less than 400 ) and it was poorly run.

The chamber needs to look very deep into the process at this late stage. It takes months not weeks to organize and run a quality derby that will show case our community, and bring back the fishermen.

Yes you will have a core group of locals who will fish no matter what, but the goal should be to draw in folks further away, who in turn help our economy. The only way is by offering great prizes and having a
volunteer committee committed to the event.

I wish them all best.
