This Saturday (March 26) at 8:30 p.m., lights will be turned off around the world.

It's time for Earth Hour, 2011.

The annual event is organized by the World Wildlife Foundation, with almost five million supporters and more than 100 countries and territories participating.

The foundation's goal is to build a future where people live in harmony with nature, ensuring that the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable, and promoting the reduction of pollution and wasteful consumption.

This Earth Hour, the foundation wants you to go beyond the hour, to think about what else you can do to make a difference when the lights turn back on.

The event began in 2007 and has grown largely since then.
