It would appear from the recent 'Sunshine List' that it pays to work in the public sector.

In Bruce and Grey counties, more than 200 people made the list of those earning more than $100,000.

The highest paid public 'servant' is once again, medical officer Dr. Hazel Lynn who earned $290,140.62 last year (2010).  Next in line is Grey Bruce Health Services' CEO, Maureen Solecki at more than $243,000.

While the health care sector has several who made the list, including RNs, the Bluewater Board of Education is not far behind.  Superintendent  of Secondary Education, Alana Murray-Lawrence earned more than $155,600 along with more than 75 at the Board who made the list. Not to be left out is the Catholic School Board that has over 25 people earning more than $100,000.

Also on the list were several CAOs of Bruce and Grey municipalities, including Saugeen Shores', in addition to local Police Chief, Dan Rivett, Inspector Ken McCulloch and Sergeant Cuillerier .

At the top of the list however, is President and CEO of Ontario Power Generation (OPG), Tom Mitchell who pulled in over $1M dollars in 2010.

Within the LHINs West, which oversees Bruce-Grey Counties there are nine who managed to make more than $100,000
