'Pretty in Pink' Committee organizing for fall gala fundraiser

Even though it's spring, 'Pretty in Pink' has begun to prepare for their fall gala luncheon of fun, friendship and silent auction.

Each year, the event has raised thousands of dollars for the Canadian Cancer Society but, this year, the monies raised will go toward the local purchase of mammography equipment.

The existing equipment urgently needs replacing and the  new state-of-the-art, digital machines cost $300,000.  "Our goal this year," says organizer Sylvia Sheard, "is to raise 10 per cent of the cost, or $30,000."

This year's event will again be held at the Lakeshore Recreation Centre on Sunday, October 23 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Tickets will go on sale beginning in August at Infinite Lingerie & Activewear in Southampton and, once again, the 'Pretty Boys' will offer up something different.  Last year, the 'Boys' posed for calendars that were quickly and almost entirely sold out [the 'Boys' are husbands of those involved in Pretty in Pink].
