G. C. Huston Public School's new Principal, Dan Russell, in Southampton, Saugeen Shores is taking fitness and fun serious when it comes to student health and activities ... and winter is no excuse.

Fan, Rebecca Cushnie, also came to the game in ... very Canadian garb The Huston Hockey League (HHL) that he organized this winter, held its championship road hockey playoff game on Friday, March 25th under bright sunny skies and a cold west wind off Lake Huron.
Goalie, Preston Ritchie and referee Doug Lein carefully watch Eric McGirr's stick-handling With the co-operation of the Town of Saugeen Shores and the local Police Services, the street in front of the school became an arena complete with boards, nets, players' benches and a sound system to get the fans into the mood with 'rocking' music. The two co-ed teams, the 'Icelanders' and 'The Team' played a fast game of road hockey. Joan Lein's brother, Constable Doug Lein of Saugeen Shores Police, and linesman Grade 8 student, Ben Rickerby, made sure the game was played by the rules.
Ray Harrison Student Announcer, Ray Harrison, kept a running commentary of the game that added to its authenticity based on the NHL. After a hard-fought battle and with excellent goal tending by goalies, Preston Ritchie and Cameron Plant, the underdogs, The Team' pulled off a big win with a score of 4 - 2 and were presented with the championship cup.
