Over the past several months the Bruce Power-Saugeen Shores-Kincardine doctor recruitment effort has been following-up on a number of potential leads established since Bruce Power launched its recruitment initiative last year.

"We are very pleased with the progress we have made over the past 11 months in terms of both marketing our region as a destination of choice for doctors looking to re-locate and in securing interest from potential physicians," says James Scongack of the Doctor's Recruitment Committee.

Last September, the first success of the Bruce Power/communities' effort was the recruitment of Dr. Robert LeBlanc, who decided to relocate to Saugeen Shores and is currently working as a full-time ER physician.  Building on the momentum, the Committee is pleased to announce is has secured a new physician for the Municipality of Kincardine.

Dr. Lisa Denobriga will begin practice in Kincardine effective May 1, 2011. Denobriga completed most of her training in the United States and decided to return to Ontario to begin her medical career.  She began the process of visiting several communities in Southwestern Ontario and after much deliberation chose Kincardine. She will complement the existing group of physicians currently practicing at the Kincardine Medical Centre.

In addition to her Family Practice she will provide coverage in the Emergency Department at SGBH - Kincardine.

"I would like to take this opportunity to recognize Peggy Zeppieri, our recruiter, who continues to tirelessly work to drive our recruitment initiative," adds Scongack.  "We are looking forward to continuing building on the progress we have made and I would also like to recognize the strong support from the physicians in Kincardine and the Municipality in helping with this effort."
