Well folks, did you celebrate Earth Hour? What an interesting exercise in learning what we can do without.
 
Our sympathy is sent to the family of the late Lois Emmerton. She will be missed greatly in her community.
 
Shirley and Doug MacDonald enjoyed taking their grandsons, Arik and Alex, to the Maple Syrup Festival  at Saugeen Bluffs on Sunday. Shirley and Doug caught up on some visiting with her brother and his wife, David and Anna Lawton of Port Elgin recently.
 
Susan and Fred Doupe visited with his sister and her husband, Deanna and Morley Scott, during the week.
 
Heather and Gabrielle Finnie attended the Century 21 Conference in Las Vegas recently. Irene Boyle has a quilt put up and would be glad to have folks drop by to help her quilt it.
 
The folks who attended the Rose Program at the Bervie Women's Institute Hall last Tuesday learned a lot about making jelly, freezer jam and pickles. The instructors were very informative and helpful.
 
The relatives of Pearl White held a 90th birthday party at the Best Western Governor' Inn on March 19.

 

The relatives and friends of Louis Misch held a 100th birthday party at Brucelea Haven, Walkerton, on Saturday, March 26.

Linda, Lydia and Allison Burke visited this weekend with Largaret McInnes.
 
Our thoughts and prayers are with those who are in the hospital or are recovering at home.
 
Ladies, please remember the Women's Institute Annual Meeting, Wednesday, April 6, at 7 p.m. at Wilma Sutton's. Our special speaker is to be Shirley Hartwick.
