Despite the windy, snowy, cold weather, a new home was put up on the corner of King and Rae Streets, Tiverton, Tuesday.

It was a modular house, hoisted into the air by a crane, and set on the foundation by workers with Tom Kerr Homes of Listowel.

Kerr was on-site and said he was pleased with how smoothly the project went.

He purchased the structure from Skyline Homes of Indiana. Once it was placed on the foundation, workers had to raise the roof and set the hinges in place with the help of the crane.

Then the roof was sealed, three doors had to be installed, a bit of drywall done, some carpet to seam, and hook up the electrical and plumbing systems. And it's home sweet home for the new owners.

The new home was purchased through Kincardine Coldwell Banker real estate agent Charlene Randle-Clayton.

Kerr's next Tiverton project is to build two quadraplexes just south of the new house on King Street, once he receives permits from the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO).
