With memories of blinding snow storms and closed roads still fresh on their minds, members of Bruce Power's Off-The-Job Safety Team are preparing for this year's Living Snow Fence day. Since the program was initiated nine years ago, 8,000 trees have been planted along roadways leading to the site. The trees act as natural wind breaks and reduce the amount of blowing snow across the highway, improving visibility. This year's tree-planting takes place on Saturday, May 7, and employees, their families and friends, are invited to take part. The event begins at 8 a.m. at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre in Tiverton. After coffee and muffins, as well as a warm-up and pre-job briefing, buses will take participants to tree-planting sites across the community. Bring your work gloves, safety boots and shovels.

Students in Grade 9 and up are encouraged to participate. This is the perfect opportunity to build up those
volunteer hours. There will also be babysitting available at the
community centre.
After the trees have been planted, the buses will bring everyone back to the community centre for a barbecue lunch provided free by Wayne Burke Catering. Please
register for the event by Friday, April 22, by calling Barbara Goetz at 519.361.3659
