Ontario premier pays tribute
to Listowel firefighters
killed in the line of duty

Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty was among those paying tribute to two Listowel volunteer firefighters who perished in a blaze last week. 

funeralRay Walter and Ken Rea were remembered as heroes at a ceremony Thursday at the Listowel Memorial Arena. 

They lost their lives after part of a burning store collapsed while they were inside. 

Hundreds of uniformed firefighters and police officers from across the province packed the building.

The Listowel Kinsmen Club and the Walter family have set up a memorial fund in Ray Walter's name. The funds will be used for community projects in Listowel.
