A contract construction worker has died after becoming ill while working in the retube building at Bruce A, Sunday.

The 44-year-old man was an employee of Black and McDonald, a multi-trade prime contractor, working at the Bruce Power site, with Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL).

A Bruce Power spokesperson has confirmed that the man's death was not work-related.

He was treated at the scene by the Emergency Response Team, but died while en route to Kincardine hospital.

Bruce Power offers its condolences to the family of the deceased.
