The
CKNX Health Care Heroes Radiothon will be fund-raising for 16 hospital foundations as the St.
Marys Memorial Hospital Foundation joins the event, slated for Oct. 15, this year.

"The radiothon has become
a great way to keep the public award of the needs of our local
hospitals," says Heather Glenister, chairperson of the radiothon
organizing committee Doug Holliday of St. Marys, who sits on the organizing committee, says the St. Marys hospital foundation has already started making plans to involve the community in the radiothon and indicates it will be a big part of the foundation's fund-raising strategy in 2011. The other hospitals supported by the radiothon include Kincardine, Southampton, Walkerton, Seaforth, Clinton, Exeter, Goderich, Listowel, Wingham, Hanover, Chesley, Durham, Mount Forest, Palmerston and Markdale.
