Here are some of the comments, but not all:

all should be every week with a limit of one can of garbage each week add in green bins

Blue boxes do not smell as bad as bags of garbage. And do not take up the  same amount of room. Please leave as is.

Both should be every second week to save taxpayer dollars. In Brockton we are looking at keeping  blue box alternate weeks and bags  every week in the summer and alternate  week in the colder months.

The garbage needs to be picked up  every week expecially in the summer as  trying to store it would cause quite an odour.

Do you want to keep your trash in your  garage in the summer heat for 2 weeks?  Some waste should not be left sitting  around for two weeks.

Garbage needs to be picked up every  week especially in the summer months   all our homes would smell!!

garbage smells! Blue box stuff does not.

Have both every second week. Save tax  dollars encourage everyone to produce  less waste.

I believe the system is working fine  at present. I would change my  response if we still had children  living with us and generated more  waste.

I can only imagine that a change of  this nature would cost more money.  There are plenty of places to drop my  recycling if I have too much in a 2 week stretch.

Ideally it would encourage people to 'reduce/reuse/recycle' more!

If people are recycling (as they should) then there is far less garbage to place at the curb. Recycling generates an income from commodities and saves space in the landfill and both contribute to savings for everyone.

It would probably work OK for me but I don't think it would for most. I don't like municipalities pushing people to what they decide is socially responsible. Use more carrot and less stick.

leave system as is unless you are  prepared to allow more recycled items

Picture two weeks worth of dirty  diapers for two or more kids sitting  around in the heat of the summer  waiting to be picked up. Now imagine  that bag splitting while being thrown  in the truck and ask yourself. How  good of an idea would this be if that  happened to be you loading that bag of  stink into the garbage truck?

Summer months and heat will not help a biweekly  garbage pickup. The smell would not be pleasant in  the garage.

The stores should be resposible for  the recyclables

They only provide 26 bag tags so we  should try to keep our waste to that  level and see what happens. It  certainly would motivate people to be  greener with their waste handling  especially in the summer!

They should leave a perfectly good  system alone. If it's not broke don't  fix it

We do not need weekly recycling  pickup.. it does not smell Garbage  does)
