Help stick a fork in hunger by donating to the Easter Food Drive, starting April 21 at Sobeys in Kincardine.

Sponsored by myFM, Sobeys, Meridian, Trillium Court, Pierson Chevrolet, Nancy Ackert Financial, and the Kincardine Times, the goal is to fill a truck with non-perishable food for the Kincardine Food Bank. Cash donations are also graciously accepted to purchase needed items.

The event runs through to Sunday, April 24, with the food distributed to families in our area who may be struggling to afford a good meal this Easter holiday season.

myFM will be broadcasting live all weekend at the food drive. "We know we can count on the continued generosity of our community in being a ‘lighthouse of hope’ in the midst of suffering," says myFM general manager Rob Mise.

"The generosity of the community is greatly appreciated," says Nancy Dawson of the Kincardine Food Bank. "In 2010, we saw a 20-per-cent increase in need, over the previous year, in our area.”

For more information, contact Mise at 519-396-7770 or 519-385-0424 (cell) or by E-mail at rob.mise@myFMradio.ca
