Cham-bettes Sandy Borland (L) and Karen Patterson collect the first 'twoonie' of their 'Bosom Buddies' fundraiser from Mayor Mike Smith

Local fundraising group, the Cham-bettes presented their recent fundraising plans at Saugeen Shores' Town Council on Tuesday (Apr 26|) - Bosom Buddies.

The campaign begins May 1st and runs throughout the month in an effort to raise funds for two new and much-needed, up-to-date digital mammography machines for Grey-Bruce.

Each councilor contributed to the new fundraising effort

The Cham-bettes is a group of local professional women who fundraise for many causes within their community and, this campaign, focuses on breast cancer and its detection.

Several 'donation jars/boxes' will be placed throughout the community in many retail outlets and group 'donation' forms will also be available at Kimberley's by the Shore in Southampton and Wino's in Port Elgin.

At the conclusion of their presentation, Cham-bettes Sandy Borland and Karen Patterson, collected the first 'twoonies'  of their campaign from the Mayor and Councilors.

Councilor Gary Brown, and founder of Southampton Cruisers' antique car show fundraising initiative, announced that all funds raised at this summer's event, taking place every Thursday night in Southampton, will go directly toward the Mammography fundraising campaign.
