'Clean Sweep' leading up to Earth Day

The Chamber of Commerce staff were busy with rakes as they cleaned up Coulter's Parkette in Port Elgin

It was spring 'Clean Sweep' time in Saugeen Shores on Thursday, April 21st.

The annual event is held each year leading up to Earth Day on April 22nd.

Several organizations, including the Town Administration, the Chamber of Commerce and Southampton Rotary, got out their rakes and garbage bags and undertook a major spring clean-up throughout the area.

Southampton Rotary took on the clean-up at Rotary Accessible Park in Southampton

Southampton Rotary cleaned up the Rotary Accessibility Park in Southampton filling several bags with refuse.

Oscar Hernandez of the Town's Administration used a handy 'spear' to collect paper (no it isn't a cigarette in his mouth, it's a lollipop!) on the grounds surrounding the Plex and Skateboard Park in Port Elgin
