About 60 students, teachers and volunteers helped plant trees along the Penetangore River Watershed, on the 7th of Kincardine Township, Friday. Grades 6-8 students from Kincardine Township-Tiverton Public School, and the Grade 9 science class from Kincardine District Secondary School planted 100 trees on the Hlinka property and 300 trees on the Campbell property, both east of Armow.
Erin Gouthro of the Penetangore Watershed Group, says the trees are being donated by the Bruce Resource Stewardship Network and the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority, to help protect the Penetangore River Watershed. The Penetangore Watershed Group invites all volunteers and landowners along the river who are ready to plant trees, to contact Gouthro at 519-396-6641 or gouthros@brucetelecom.com; Chrystel Murphy at chrystelmurphy@yahoo.ca; or Carol Blake at 519-396-5170 or mcblake@bmts.com Eartha Phorson (L), Samantha Stewart-Ault, Brandon Campbell and McKenzie Stevens work together to plant trees
