The actors of a 'Day in the Life' series

'Heroines and Heroes' kicked off the new 'A Day in the Life' series at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre.

The first play in the series drew from the diary and letters of Louisa Lambert, wife of Duncan Lambert, the Chantry Island Lighthouse Keeper.  She tells of life on a secluded island with children to raise, teach, and keep safe from the angry waters, and a husband who often is in danger’s way because of his job.

Following the lives of those sailors on the shores of Lake Huron, it depicted the agony of helplessly watching men perish in the cold waters in a vicious storm with the result that Life Saving Stations were initiated in Kincardine, and later, up and down the Huron coast.

The series continues on June 18 with 'Fathers Day Picnic' featuring an old-fashioned picnic at the Museum's pioneer house and school.
