We don't edit your comments, do a spell check on them or fiddle with your punctuation.

We do toss out more than one vote per responder.  It's a waste of your time.  The computer eliminates them.

Some people voted many times trying to skew the results.  It does not work as the computer tosses you out and allows only one vote for you.  We  pick up your comments, however.

Bottom Line multiple votes waste your time not the computers.

Here are some of the comments, but not all:

All the local councils have done is  wasted time and money on something  that is legislated by the province.  They would do better to negotiate with  wind companies over what they are  allowed to deal with such as haul  routes and road maintenance.

All the policies show is how unfriendly the municipality is towards economic development.

but the wind turbine companies will ignore  them

We need to let Dalton know how we feel  in the next election this is supposed  to be a democratic country not a  communist one

I'm all for renewable energy sources. It will benefit us  small farmers and the environment. Knowing what  other sources like coal and nuclear can do to  everybody's health the choice is simple.

Councillers do not have the knowledge  or ability to develop appropriate  logical policies. Most are simply out  fighting to make a name for themselves

Get rid of wind turbines.

Hello Municipalities are too late to  the party. Wind developers have been in this area for over 10 years; the  Green Energy Act is about 2 years in.  Only now the NIMBY crowd is waking up  as aesthetics and property values seem  to trump clean energy local jobs and  a welcome income source for farmers.

How come other countries can have  their wind mills at some distant place  away from built up areas.

I am very proud of our municipalities  for protecting our interests and  making these tough choices.

I feel that the province of ontario  and all other governing bodies have  taken all needed precautions. Thanks  for your survey

If municipalities have democracy  restored these policies will need to  be in place.

It depends a little on what the  policies are of course but since the  province is responsible for renewable  energy development it seems like a  waste of time for the municipality to  spend much time on it.

It gives Council a vehicle to deal  with this companies

It is essential!

It seems that the opponents to wind  are much more vocal than those of us  who have no problem. I'm wondering if  those opposed are willing to see there  taxes go up as revenue to municipalites is not generated.

It's our only avenue at this level of  government to get back the right the  McGuinty administration took away from  us to decide how we want to our towns  to grow.

Kincardine in their greed have already  ruined the landscape in the rural  areas! But I see there are no ugly  towers near the actual town of  Kincardine. I wonder why?

Local policies are based on politics  not science.

Municipalities must plan development  for future growth and longterm  livability of the community.  Unfettered industrial development  would harm other sectors of our  economy.

No many municipal councilors stand to gain from wind power and must declare conflict of interest leaving councils stacked in favor of anti wind. This leads to poor representation of the voting public.

No… and it’s not because it’s a waste  of time as this poll suggests but  because there are policies in place by  the province. I also don’t feel that  the municipalities have the depth of  knowledge to deal with wind polices. I  have been to the municipal meetings  and have zero confidence in the local  government to make viably sound  judgments

Obviously development polices will help  especially if they help to stop this malignant tumour developing on the landscape of Ontario.

Of course wind policies will help.  It's called self defence. Democracy  has slipped away from us with  the 'Dark Energy Act'. It is  imperative that we fight back.

Our elected representatives in Ontario  have spent time & money to put policies  in place in the Green Energy Act. It is a  waste of time & money for municipal  representatives to rethink this issue.

Policies will help but the issue is with the Renewable Energy Approvals regulations issued by the MOE without adequate protection.

Previous councils had no backbone and allowed these parasitic wind companies to run roughshod. Seemingly almost all the new council minus the mayor has seemingly developed some spine so maybe these development polices will stop this futile pathetic excuse for generation development.

Right now municipalities rights are  superceded by the Green Energy Act.  When we get our rights back these  policies will need to be in place in  order to protect our local  communities! Hence I vote YES.

Spend money elsewhere MOE has this covered.

The Green energy act is the authority  in this matter. If the act is changed  to give authority to the  municipalities then it is worthwhile  otherwise it is a waste of taxpayers  money.

The health and safety of citizens is one of the most important factors which should drive any decision. Some level of government needs to recognize it.  The local level still has the ability to be most responsive to people's concerns.

the ontario govenrment already has  polixies in place

THE province has the responsibilty for  wind as they do with all ENERGY not  the municpality. We give the  provicince charge for Health  Education Enviroment Energy  policing and Nuclear what make the  town council think they should govern  wind... why dont they manage the town  budget with their surplus time and let  the province manage energy

This area needs the developement  provided by wind energy projects but  these projects must abide by policies  that work for everyone. Ben.

This policy will protect the future  growth of our communities as opposed to  the pocket books of 10%. Kincardine  needs this long term strategy What good  has Enbridge brought us ? There is no  denying that there are Wind Turbines  making people sick in this municipality.  Down with the culture of denial. Greed +  Wind Turbines damage people and  property.

Time for the NIMBY's to put their  money where their mouth's are and  prove all their claims with real  science and not all this internet  third party garbage. We are back to  nutrient management days were some  councillors brains turned to mush. Now  we have a deputy mayor on the picket  line. What next

Unfortunately the province has the  final say...We can bolster all we want  at the municipal level but when it  comes down to it we dont have the  money to fight this in the courts.  Someone at the province needs to start  listening!

We need to use every means possible to  stop the wind companies from  destroying our communities.

Why is council spending time on an issue over which they have no jurisdiction?

Without a policy the Municipality has  no options to deal with developers.

Wouldn't any municipal policy be superseded by the green energy act?

Yes i do think they benefit the local  municipality as well as society as a  whole. We have to develop new power  sources. Also what is the true cost  of nuclear power once the storage of  the waste for the next 20 000+yrs and  decommissioning of the current plant  are taken into consideration.

Yes we need them...$ for farmers and  the municipality stop listening to  radical groups and use studies  already in place and stop delaying or  they will go elsewhere.

yes they will help us and our kids and  there kids and so on we have to start  something now
