Rob and Vicki Rogers, owners of the Pharmasave stores in Kincardine and Port Elgin, have won two awards for achievements over the past year at their retail establishments.

Rob Rogers, also a pharmacist, says they beat 170 other Pharmasave stores in Ontario to win these awards.

Gordon Pharmasave in Kincardine was recognized for the Most Outstanding Increase in Front Store Sales year-over-year; and Wardrop Pharmasave in Port Elgin received the Best Store Design and Best Branding award.

“There are six categories,” says Rogers, “and only one award is given in each category. So, to win two awards at once is a great honour - and to receive these highly-esteemed awards amongst my peers at Pharmasave. We're extremely happy, proud of our staff, and appreciative of our customers, to be able to bring home these awards.”

Rogers says a few things were changed, particularly at the Kincardine store, which helped them win the award.

“We greatly expanded the product mix, especially with home health care, home accessories, giftware, female accessories such as purses and scarves, and it's gone over extremely well,” he says. “In Port Elgin, we did a full renovation with a really new look - very warm, very friendly. It's very much different than the big box stores, what you'll find at Wal-Mart – it's very inviting. That's what impressed the judges so much.”

Rogers says the awards are thanks to their great employees and customers.

A special note: Gordon Pharmasave is hosting its First Annual Garage Sale on Saturday, May 21, 8 a.m. to ?, at the back entrance of the store, facing the municipal parking lot. Come in and get a bargain – blow-out garage sale prices!
