Stop the insanity of industrial wind development, says writer

Our Liberal provincial government wants to hear from us although it doesn't appear to take action on much we send if it goes against the province's industrial wind policy.

This is the actual wording used for the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources EBR Registry:

Ministry: Ministry of Natural Resources

EBR Registry Number:   011-3181

"Title: Permit under Section 17 of the Endangered Species Act, 2007 (ESA) to allow Gilead Power Corporation to kill, harm and harass Blanding’s Turtle and Whip-poor-will as well as damage and destroy the habitat of Whip-poor-will for the purpose of the development and operation of Ostrander Point Wind Energy Park in the Township of South Marysburgh, Prince Edward County"

This was my letter to the registry:

Industrial wind development is already killing, harming, harassing, damaging and destroying the habitat of anything it goes near - people and wildlife alike.

Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. No, this is not all right to do. No, wind turbines are not good for us or our environment. Stop the insanity, make this stop, enough already.

If you want all the evidence in the world for why industrial wind power is not good for anything but developer's pocketbooks, look at every EBR from every ministry ever put forward on industrial wind projects by this provincial government and you will find it.

So far, since turbine projects seem to be continuing to move forward, consultation has been an exercise in futility. We have not been listened to. I don't believe our evidence has been considered, and suffering harm continues as a result of this government's lack of due diligence.
