KTTPS band brings home two gold standings, scholarships and awards

The Grades 4/5 Handbells group performs in Walkerton

The Kincardine Township-Tiverton Public School band won gold at the Kiwanis Music Festival in Owen Sound April 12, and followed that up with another gold standing at the Rotary Music Festival in Walkerton April 21.

Besides the golds, the band won the award of excellence in Owen Sound, donated by T.S. Cooper, and a scholarship.

In Walkerton, the band also won the Brown's Pharmacy trophy for the highest mark in its classification, plus a scholarship donated by Norma MacDonald.

The KTTPS choir won bronze in Owen Sound April 5, and took second place in Walkerton April 19. The Grades 4/5 choir placed first, while the Grades 4/5 Handbells also placed first and won a scholarship donated by Bruce Power.

Delaney Evans and Samantha Stewart-Ault won a scholarship in Walkerton, donated by the Walkerton Rotary Club.

Other musicians performing in Walkerton were Lily Freiburger, Alison Shepherd, Vivien Adler, Kaitlyn MacKinnon, Rylee Evans, Danica Wall, Cailyn McKay, Annika Van Veen, Lori Ogilvie, Lindsay Glover, Hattie Skinner, Natasha Adler, Lauren Andrews, MacKenna Johnston, Kerri Rice, Matt Brown, Claire Coenen, and Derek Eberl.

Performing in the Highlights Concert, were the KTTPS band, the Handbells group, and Delaney Evans and Samantha Stewart-Ault.
