For those who are part of the 'hot' Meals on Wheels program in Port Elgin, it is good news thanks to Kingsway Arms at Elgin Lodge.

When the local Southampton Hospital announced it would be discontinuing the service on May 30th, many became concerned that the program would be eliminated completely.

Fortunately, however, Kingsway Arms at Elgin Lodge stepped in and offered to provide the service for Home and Community Support Services.

"We are very appreciative that Kingsway Arms at Elgin Lodge has come to the forefront in providing this vital service in the community," says Jane Hoffstetter, Team Leader for volunteers who deliver the meals.  "Their kitchen staff are wonderful in stepping in to ensure that those who rely on these once-a-day meals will still receive them."

"We, at Kingsway Arms, Elgin Lodge are very happy to be able to help Home and Community Support Services in this very worthwhile program," says Deborah Wallace, Executive Director of Kingsway Arms at Elgin Lodge. "Working with seniors every day, we understand how important nutritious meals are and, especially, to those who rely on these once-a-day meals being delivered to their homes."
