Congratulations to the Bruce County Junior Farmers Alumni and current members for a very successful hosting of the Good Brothers in Teeswater on Saturday evening. It was a great time to renew old acquaintances and friends. Kathy Martin, of Kitchener visited with Jim and Fran Farrell on Saturday evening. What a delight to see all the cheery spring flowers as you travel around the countryside. Thank you to everyone who has planted them. And now it is time for the canola fields to be in bloom. What a wonderful sea of yellow. Mary Anne Kukoly enjoyed meals with Mary Black, Betty Scott and Donna Swann recently. The 148th anniversary service of the Kinlough Presbyterian Church was held last Sunday evening with a good attendance. Get well wishes are sent to our folks in the hospital - our thoughts and prayers are with you. Sympathy is sent to the family of the late Harold Nicholson and to the former Mary Nicholson on the death of her husband, Jack Spieran.

A fun evening for the Purple Grove Women's Institute was held Wednesday evening at the Purple Grove Community Centre. President Cheryl Bridge and secretary Fran Farrell conducted a brief business meeting before the Plant Sale. The main item discussed was the District Annual on May 26 at Port Elgin. Conveners Marilyn Reid and Deanna Scott provided a fun time with Deanna quizzing us on flower names and Marilyn reading some quotes on retirement that brought some chuckles too. After the plant sale, Marilyn and Deanna provided lunch, and a good time was had by all. Hope everyone has a safe and happy long weekend.
