The 9th annual Multicultural Night in Kincardine was a huge success, drawing 1,600 people to experience more than 30 different cultures, on display at the Davidson Centre arena.

Among the countries represented were the Aboriginal First Nations, Canada, United States, Angola, Ukraine, Antarctica, Spain, Tanzania, China, England, Argentina, Scotland, San Marino, Ecuador, Russia, Romania, France, Holland, Germany, Portugal, India, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Ireland, Philippines, Israel, Mali, Palestine, Italy, Japan, Nepal, Mexico and Korea.

There were also seven shows, featuring music, dance and song from the Philippines, India, China, Saugeen First Nation, and the choirs at Elgin Market Public School and Huron Heights Public School.

"This is a great learning experience," said Chandra Tripathi, a member of the organizing committee. "Not only do we get to taste delicious food from all over the world, we get to learn about all these different cultures that are found right here in our own community."

He offered appreciation to the organizers, the sponsors and everyone who shared their culture and volunteered for the event.
