Grand Opening Celebration & Exhibit Development Capital Campaign Launch

Stokes Bay Lighthouse at the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre

Saturday, June 11 at 2:00pm

On Saturday, June 11th your Museum will be celebrating the grand opening of the Stokes Bay Lighthouse which served as a range light for over 108 years. The Museum is grateful to the staff at Bruce County Tourism, MacGregor Point Provincial Park, the residents of Stokes Bay and our many volunteers for saving this historical landmark.

Join us on June 11th, at 2:00pm at 33 Victoria Street North in Southampton for a champagne toast as we open our Stokes bay Lighthouse and launch our new exhibit development campaign.

This new five-year initiative, with a goal of raising $500,000, underscores the importance of bringing the Museums significant and important collections out of storage and into the permanent hall.

“Starting with our General Hunter exhibit in 2012, we are committed to producing top-notch interactive exhibits from our own resources. This will be done in partnership with local and area groups, in order to show off the best of Bruce County.” says Museum Director & Curator, Barbara Ribey.

Join us as we formally launch this new Exhibit Development Capital Campaign at the opening of the Stokes Bay Lighthouse along with the community and invited dignitaries, including Museum Department Chair, John Close.
