Demise of the Beach Carnival:

It is a sad day indeed. I have many wonderful memories of myself and my children, making cakes and working numerous beach carnivals over the years to raise money for the various clubs they where involved in.

Meeting dozens of people from out of town who where cottaging at the beach with their families, as I worked the Crown and Anchor or the Cake Wheel.

It was a entire family event, Grandparents, cousins, Aunts and Uncles. Everyone trying to win a cake.

Parents with their tiny children anxiously awaiting the children's free bingo..... the last event of the night. It seemed the winner was always some tiny little fellow, trotting off home with a pot of pennies, thrilled as can be.

Mike, A great read, I look forward to your next article.  June Fotherby

Great article Mike.

It’s good to see that the history behind the restoration project will be made available for others to appreciate.

I will look forward to the next articles!
