This year's annual musical production, 'Beauty & the Beast' by Saugeen District Secondary School (SDSS) has proven to be a big hit. Every performance has been sold out and, at Saturday's matinee, the many young children who were in the audience sat quietly and breathlessly throughout the entire show. Although opening night had to be cancelled due to one of the most severe storms to ever hit the area, every production since has been sold out.
Prior to each performance, English tea was served (L) Sydney Morton & Lily Miller Under the drama direction of teacher Leslie Turcotte and musical director, Ian Burbidge, the annual musicals held each year have opened doors to performance for many students. For those who have not yet seen the production of 'Beauty & the Beast' by Saugeen District Secondary School (SDSS), you have missed one of the most professional productions by SDSS every performed. The scenery backdrops and costumes are a big part of this fictional story and the make-up and orchestral arrangements are professional quality ... and are simply amazing given that the performers are high school students. The last production will take place Sunday, June 12 at 7:00 p.m. at SDSS in Port Elgin

Only one performance, Sunday at 7:00 p.m. remains, and if any previous show are any indication, it too will be a sell-out.
