Kincardine council is paying $2,000 to have the washrooms in the Kincardine Arts Centre spruced up.

At the council meeting last night (June 15), chief administrative officer John deRosenroll said the two public washrooms will be painted, have new flooring installed and have a general clean-up done, at a cost of $1,000 each.

Funding will come from existing budgets and submitted back through the Canada Build Infrastructure program.

The work is being done by Bruce County Flooring and a local painter, said deRosenroll.

The washrooms are to be ready before the weekend of the Kincardine Scottish Festival, July 1-3.

In the long-term, deRosenroll said that a washroom facility needs report will be completed, to be presented to council after Labour Day, and included in the 2012 business plan and budget program.
