Township to host Longest Day of PLAY June 21 |

Huron-Kinloss Township is hosting the Longest Day of PLAY in Bruce Grey on Tuesday, June 21. This community-wide challenge is part of a county-wide initiative designed to engage municipalities, schools, community partners and residents to get active on the first day of summer. "So, we at the Township of Huron-Kinloss need to do our part to participate, by PLAYing our parks," says Mike Fair, parks and recreation director. "Come to Lewis Park in Ripley, Lucknow Lions Park in Lucknow or Point Clark Community Centre Park in Point Clark, on Tuesday, June 21, at 6:30 p.m., and participate in the community-wide game of Capture the Flag," says Fair. "The game will be ongoing and participants selected at random will receive T-shirts, tattoos and stickers for participating."He urges children and adults to participate and follow PLAY initiatives to be active and have fun and participate in unstructured, informal activity. Play is an essential part of childhood development:
The township also encourages residents to participate in PLAY all the time; why not make every Tuesday night family park night?
