A better question is how can we not
support it? Save me the cries of it taking money away
from Bruce Power do a little research on your own and
find out how many BNPD workers are heating with
wood then come talk to me. Price gouge after price
gouge by Hydro as left a number of people looking for
a more reasonably priced option. The pipeline is 20
years overdue. |
|
An absolute pipe dream. It doesn't
matter how much support this project may get from
residents. The cost of the infrastructure completely
outweighs the revenue generated by servicing the
Kincardine area. Literally a pipe dream pun
intended!!!!!!! |
|
Another matter that will tear up the
roads in Kincardine for years to come and will cost
the poor taxpayers a lot of money. It will only
benefit the big new houses built by the welltodo
(read: Bruce Power's) highly paid employees. :( |
|
can't afford to heat with electricity
anymore and we know that's only going to get worse |
|
Back home in Sarnia we used gas for
26 years and found it to be very clean efficient and
clean. We still miss it after using oil heat &
electric heat for 25 years. |
|
it's just one more thing to spend
money on. How about a decent store Wallmart for
example |
|
SO FAR IT IS LESS EXPENSIVE AND
QUICKER THAN HYDRO |
|
I always thought that it would be a great
idea to have natural gas here. But when I read about how
much it would cost for the privilege of buying their product
my thoughts changed to 'no'. |
|
Council should not be spending tax
payers money on an item that all tax payers will not
be able to use. They should not have turned down the
monetary support from Canadian Agra! |
|
Even tiny hamlets like Formosa have natural
gas. Kincardine council have not looked after our interests.
How come Enbridge can use our wind but not supply us with
gas ? |
|
I believe not having gas here will
contribute to slower growth for our immediate area.
The mayor said that Port Elgin attracts more industry
than we do and I believe this is one of the
reasons. Roy T. |
|
I don't agree with the municipal governments
using our money to do a feasibility study. I'm sure the gas
companies know if there is money to be made. What*s next our
governments will pay to do studies for stores to come to the
area? After all local people would be hired. |
|
I feel we are at a disadvantage across
this province. With soaring hydro prices I don't even
want to see the total for our hydro bills this
year...scary!!! I'm always shocked at what people pay
for their hydro bills in other communities with
natural gas. Its ridiculous! Bring on the
natural gas! |
|
I really don't care but that wasn't
one of the choices. It should be. |
|
i support it only if there are no
charges to town in getting the pipline here and any
prelimunary work |
|
If cost to residential is in line with
other surounding areas . |
|
Natural gas aside from a ground source
heat pump is the least expensive heat source
available. You could hook your gas BBQ directly onto
a lineno more running out of propane. Good way to
attract more business to area. No more propane
tanks lying around. Save tax $ on municipal building
heating. |
|
Natural gas fractures the earth and
has caused mini earthquakes. The process fills the
area with chemicals destroying streams and rivers.
There is a moratorium on in Quebec. |
|
Natural gas is the most economical
form of home heating. |
|
Of course it would have to be
financally advantageous before I would sign any
contract. |
|
Residents would benefit from this
cheaper option for heating their homes. |
|
They suggested this in 1970's...boy...Kincardine
is slow to get on board! |
|
We almost chose Port Elgin over
Kincardine when moving here a few years ago because of
the natural gas issue. We were used to having a
natural gas furnace water heater fireplace dryer and
oven/stove. Even if some of the town we to get access
to natural gas would be an improvement. |
|
We have a perfectly fine standard of living
in Kincardine and area without a nice to have* natural gas
pipeline. It is nonessential and we CANNOT afford it. Time
to tighten our fiscal belts. |
|
What we need is cheap electricity. This
should be purchased wholesale directly from Bruce
Power and cut out all of the middlemen and their
rediculous price markups. |
|
Why has the Kincardine area been
excluded all the time surrounding areas have natural
gas? |
|
Why should we be the only community
around here without this option for heating etc? |
|
Why somewhere else and not in
Kincardine? |
|
With the price of hydro and wood going
up yearly we need an alternative way to heat our house
water and cook. |
|
Yes! We need some relief from heating
with hydro! |
