'Too Sweet Girls'  team from Saugeen Shores raised $3,300

The 5th Annual Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) walk was held Saturday, June 25 at Harrison Park in Owen Sound.

More than 20 teams with approximately 300 participants took part in the walk around Harrison Park.

Organizer, Connie Fitzpatrick, said that JDRF is hopeful that juvenile diabetes will find a cure by 2018.  "Researchers are looking a wide variety of possible causes, including bacteria, and we hope that they will find a cure.  This year, we have seen a lot of newcomers to the walker and that's not good as it means more children are being diagnosed."
