New Communications Officer for Bluewater District School Board

Bluewater District School Board has announced that the vacant position of Communications Officer has been filled.

Jamie Pettit (peh’ dit) assumes the role effective August 22nd to coincide with the beginning of the 2011 - 2012 academic year.

A Grey County resident since 2002, Pettit makes the transition from his most recent post as Manager of the Meaford & District Chamber of Commerce.

In addition to public relations experience, he brings a varied background in local radio, community television and on-line media.

"This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with trustees, staff, parents and other constituents as part of Bluewater District School Board’s strong commitment to encourage clear and open dialogue while strengthening media relations", says Pettit.

Director John Bryant indicated that  "Jamie will be an asset to Bluewater District School Board given his extensive background in communication and media."

The position will focus on a number of key areas including internal and external communications strategies, the Board’s website, marketing materials and special events.
