The first Saturday Night Parade of the summer season, led by the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band, was a magnificent affair as about 25 pipers and 20 drummers led hundreds of people from Victoria Park to the Quinn Plaza and back. Locals and visitors, alike, look forward to the parades, joining in with the crowd to march behind the band. At the plaza, many youngsters had a chance to try beating the big bass drum, or tapping on the snare drum. And a good percentage of the marchers were proudly wearing plaid. The parades run every Saturday night, starting at Victoria Park at 8 p.m., from now until Labour Day.
