Work is underway for the upcoming Marine Heritage Festival variety show to be held on July 30th at the Southampton Town Hall.

The show, produced by Mike Sterling, a founding member of the Chantry Island project, will feature a variety of local entertainers with emcee and troubadour, David Archibald.

Creating a perfect backdrop is always a priority for Sterling, who has produced many shows/concerts at the historic Town Hall.  This year, the entire production, "We Were Here", is centered around Chantry Island Lighthouse and the 10th anniversary of its restoration.  The show will be a tribute to those men and women who first undertook the massive island restoration with its Imperial lighthouse, Keeper's Quarters house and gardens and those volunteers who are now keeping it going.

Artist and retired art teacher, Eric Luce, has been enlisted to help re-create Chantry Island on the stage backdrop wall.  Working from photographs, he and Sterling are ensuring that the perspective and every detail is correct of the 20 ft. plus painting of the Lighthouse.
