'Me to We' at Saugeen District Secondary School

According to Amiee Bertin, co-president of the 'Me to We' group at Saugeen District Secondary School (SDSS) in Port Elgin, the past year was very successful for the group due to the hardwork that the group undertook.

Many fundraising events were held throughout the year to raise the $8,500 needed to build a school in Sierra Leone.  From a cupcake sale and a dance for elementary school students to the sale of Christmas cards, the 'Me to We' group worked diligently to raise the needed funds for the school.

One of the major fundraising events was a motivational talk by former child soldier, Michel Chikwanine, in addition to participation in 'Halloween for Hunger' and the 'Vow of Silence' campaign that recognizes children throughout the world who are not allowed to, or have no voice to, speak about issues.
