Jane McAllister of Port's Emporium, generously donates $500 to the
Bosom Buddies for mammography, with Cham-bette: Pat Galivan" The Mammography Equipment Campaign continues to raise funds in Saugeen Shores. Five hospital foundations throughout Grey-Bruce have committed to raising $300,000 each toward new mammography equipment to be located in Owen Sound. The generous contributions of women's groups, such as Chantry Island Cham-bettes and the Saugeen Hospital Auxiliary, in addition to individual donations has raised $50,000 to date toward the $300,000 goal. The Cham-bettes challenged local women's groups to participate in the 'Bosom Buddies' campaign with a minimum of $2 and at least ten friends. Women in Saugeen Shores bonded and exceedd expectations of the challenge and donated more than $10,500 to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation. Among the groups that responded were the South Saugeen Women's Institute, South-Port Chapter 314-Order fo the Eastern Star, Saugeen Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Women's Probus Club of Saugeen Shores, Canadian Federation of University Women, GBHS Digital Imaging Team and Church Women. Several other local organizations, such as Cruisers' Night and 'Pretty in Pink' have also specified proceeds from their upcoming events for the Campaign.
