The hot sun in front of Wal-Mart does not daunt Marine Heritage/Propeller Club members as they wait for their customers. Volunteers from the Marine Heritage Society and the Propeller Club gathered in front of Wal-Mart for a fund raising hotdog and sausage event. Headed up by Bill Moulton, who has done many of these events, there were many volunteers and as the warm day developed, plenty of people who came ate and chatted. The purpose of the event was to raise money for the new boat Peerless II, which is now in service. Bill organized a triple threat in that for every dollar contributed by the customer, Wal-Mart would match it. Another donor came forward and Bill made the same deal with him. The end result? For every dollar in Bill collected two more for a triple donation to the new boat. Stay tuned for final results of the event. |
