Township hosting water stewardship event July 16

Township continues to take the lead in Ontario with its initiatives to
preserve the natural environment and improve water quality through
various programs. One of these is the Water Stewardship Event the township is hosting Saturday, July 16, at the Point Clark Community Centre, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Organized by B.M. Ross and Associates, the municipality's engineering firm, the event is designed to promote environmental awareness and inform the permanent and seasonal residents of the ongoing water stewardship initiatives within the township. The day will begin at 10 a.m. with an open house to provide an opportunity for residents to visit the various exhibitors. From 11 a.m. to noon, guest speakers from the University of Waterloo and the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources will discuss "Algae along Lake Huron's South East Shoreline" and "The Status of Fisheries in Lake Huron." Beginning at 12:30 p.m., there will be a half-hour demonstration of the mandatory septic inspections that are currently taking place within the township. The following local water stewardship groups and initiatives will showcase their work:
