| The Huron-Kinloss Ice Cream Trail was launched June 24 and already the township has received 20 entries. At the general committee meeting last night (July 4), administrator Mary Rose Walden said staff has been overwhelmed by the response to the fun-filled photo scavenger hunt which takes people to ice cream stops along the trail, past beaches, golf courses, parks and a splash pad. The eight stops include:
"It's interesting to note that all ages are participating, not just families," said Walden. "With the entries, we are receiving good comments on how much fun people are having." They can complete the Ice Cream Trail in one day or spread the adventure out over the summer. The contest has players follow a map to the eight ice cream stops and follow clues to find Sammy Sprinkles. They take a picture of themselves with Sammy at each stop to submit with the completed entry form, and send it to Huron-Kinloss Township, P.O. Box 130, 21 Queen St., Ripley, or E-mail to info@huronkinloss.com The Ice Cream Trail runs until Sept. 30, and entries must be received by Oct. 15, 2011, to qualify for the grand prize. After four pictures with Sammy, you can enter to receive a free nine-inch Frisbee. If you collect all the stops, you can enter to receive a free T-shirt (first 1,000 participants). All entries will be eligible for the grand prize of 250 Huron-Kinloss dollars to spend at the 200 businesses throughout the township.
