The Old Diggers Mushball Tournament held over the weekend found the weather and the new picnic shelter to be right on the money. Sixteen teams played in four divisions with the Bruce Bar and Grill coming up as champs on the A side and the Bases Loaded winning the B division. Special mention goes to Wes Houghton for his first hit of the game which was also the first foul ball to be placed in the new gazebo. Come up to the diamonds and see what a community can do.

The Agricultural Society had the KDSS Bervie campus students build the gazebo commemorating the 150th Fall Fair this year, and the Ladies Ball League had the Bervie students build the picnic shelter, along with help from many volunteers – you know who you are – who laid concrete, sod and everything else that made it great.

Knox Presbyterian Church Restoration Committee is hosting a Hamburg/Sausage Lunch on Monday, July 18, at noon. Sausages, homemade hamburgs, tarts and cookies are offered. Good will offering. All are welcome.
